The time is fast approaching for me to load up the truck with Mulberry Street vintage lawn furniture and head to Charlotte, North Carolina for the Southern Spring Home and Garden Show, March 3-7 (southernshows.com/sss). I will be in the Studio Cleary display area where landscape architect Ted Cleary (scla.carbonmade.com) has designed a fabulous mid-century garden and is featuring some Mulberry Street furniture as well as some really cool mid-century props like the 2-toned blue ’57 Chevy Bel-Air sedan in the driveway.
I will be there part time to meet and greet and to talk about some of my favorite things: Mulberry Street vintage outdoor furniture and outdoor living in general, porch living in particular. Ted will be giving a slide presentation on one of my favorite aspects of mid-century residential design…”how the interior and exterior spaces were so comfortably linked”. His talk is entitled “Seamless: the Mid-Century Modern Home and Its Garden”. He will speakĀ once on Wednesday, March 3 at 4:30, then again on Friday, March 5 at 7:30. Pam Keuber of retrorenovation.com will be at the show, too. If you’re renovating a mid-century house or just want to see what cool things other people are doing with them, check out Pam’s site. She has resources and ideas galore for the mid-century renovator. Hope to see you at the show!
